About the Item
1930's Diamond Back Bentwood Dining Chairs - Pair.
Rare pair of chairs by the Hungarian producer Debrecen with beautifully detailed backs, it is hard to be precise about the origin of these chairs as little history is known, but what we do know is at the beginning of the 20th Century Debrecen was a bentwood maker in Hungary. Three major producers existed in Hungary, producing chairs in various factories throughout the Austro Hungarian empire. These chairs are late 1930's, beautiful surviving and fascinating chairs. All our chairs pass through our own workshop where they are gently serviced and sensitively restored, we only sell vintage of excellent quality. Stamped Uzhorod as some components were made there. Seat Height 47cm
Workshop Report:
Our workshop team inspect every product and carry out any needed repairs to ensure that everything leaves us serviced and maintained ready for many more years of life. All of our vintage products show the rich beauty and history of their life with the knocks and bumps of many years of use and we try to minimise restoration to keep every piece as original as possible.
