About the Item
1950’s Elegant Backed Dark Walnut Thonet Dining Chairs – Set Of Six.
Founded in the early 19th Century by Michael Thonet, Thonet invented the process of steam bending wood under pressure and used this to design the classic bentwood chairs still in production today. In the 19th Century he had a large network of shops throughout Europe and was a huge furniture retailer. This is a stunning set of late fifties original Thonet chairs in a simple elegant and contemporary shape. The chairs have been gently refurbished in our own workshops and are in excellent condition. Seat Height 46cm

All of our vintage products show the rich beauty and history of their life with the knocks and bumps of many years of use and we try to minimise restoration to keep every piece as original as possible.
