About the Item
1950’s Mid Oak Stella Dining Chairs With Flat Angular Seat – Set Of Eleven.
Stella is a lesser known French chair manufacturer founded originally in 1912 as the Auriol company making wheelbarrows. In 1922 Léon Ruisseau used his technical knowledge to create a stronger chair using hidden bolts to strengthen the structure. The process made the construction stronger but also allowed him to manage his inventory better in component form. Based in Labruguière in the South of France Stella exists to this day.
This listing is for a set of eleven classic Stella chairs from the fifties in a mid blonde oak colour. The chairs are in excellent original condition, the wide seats make them very comfortable and strong. Our workshop has tightened the ‘Stella’ bolts and waxed them. Seat Height: 46cm.

Our workshop team inspect every product and carry out any needed repairs to ensure that everything leaves us serviced and maintained ready for many more years of life. All of our vintage products show the rich beauty and history of their life with the knocks and bumps of many years of use and we try to minimise restoration to keep every piece as original as possible.
