About the Item

Set of six Pyramid stacking chairs designed by Wim Rietveld for Ahrend de Cirkel exemplifies Dutch Mid-Century industrial design at its finest. This model earned the prestigious Signe d'Or Design Award in 1960, recognizing its innovative blend of form and function. The chairs feature warm teak seats and backrests with horizontal slat detailing, mounted to distinctive A-frame bases in black enameled metal with characteristic splayed legs. The stackable design demonstrates exceptional space efficiency while maintaining structural integrity and comfort. Each chair showcases the ergonomic proportions and clean lines that defined progressive European furniture design of the era. The teak displays natural grain patterns and warm honey tones, while the powder-coated metal frames retain their original black finish. Chairs remain in original condition and show wear consistent with age and use. Some foot caps have been replaced with new production components. Two sets of six currently available, with each set showing similar condition though individual chairs may vary from those photographed.
