About the Item
A beautiful set of six striking, crimson-upholstered Fuitwood and Lemon Tree veneer armchairs, named in french Fauteuils à Crosses, dating from the “Restauration” Period in France (1815-1830), during which time rooms and interiors were being designed with more emphasis on comfort than display. Each chair boasts a gold garland design, ornate seat back in the same design, and scrolled armrests. They rest on splayed sabre legs (so called, as they resemble a sabre, or curved sword).
Please note that there have been repairs to two of the geet, and there are some blemishes to the veneer.
