About the Item

These six Adrian Pearsall Model 2051-C high-back dining chairs, upholstered in a lush green crushed velvet, epitomize sculptural mid-century elegance. Pearsall’s iconic design from the 1960s is celebrated for its commanding tall, tapered back, articulated geometric form, and the beautiful contrast between sumptuous upholstery and elegantly crafted walnut bases. The tufted back profiles evoke poise without pretension. The deep olive velvet adds a dynamic, iridescent richness, playing beautifully against the richly warmed walnut frames. The chairs feel both indulgent and architectural. Craft Associates brought a sophisticated sensibility to Pearsall’s vision, infusing architectural sophistication into domestic furniture. The Model 2051-C stands among his most iconic designs—a marriage of dramatic form, structural clarity, and modern luxury. The tall silhouette draws the eye upward, while the splayed, tapered legs ground each chair in refined craftsmanship. Condition: Repaired: Walnut bases are in excellent restored condition. Thomasville Embassy Asian Chinoiserie Dining Chairs
By Century Furniture, Raymond K. Sobota, Thomasville
Located in Chattanooga, TN
Set of six dining chairs by Thomasville, from the Embassy line, restored with integrity and style. Includes two arm-chairs and four side chairs. Design is distinctly Chinoiserie, with an Asian-inspired silhouette: the crown is pagoda-notched, the blade-like backs curve inward following the spine’s shape for ergonomic support. Frames are solid wood, original finish clean with only minor blemishes; seat cushions have been re-upholstered in a neutral blended fabric combining tones of gray, brown, black and white—modern yet complementary to the frame tones. Restoration has reinforced structural joints; the wood surfaces have been cleaned, polished, and detailed so the grain and contour shine. The overall presence is both elegant and bold—chairs that bring visual rhythm to a dining set, a media console, or curated furniture group. Only minor imperfections remain on frames. All chairs are sturdy. Suited for interiors that prize material authenticity, decorative nuance, and vintage pedigree. These chairs perform well around classic dining tables, or paired with wood, lacquer, or mirrored surfaces. Ideal for collectors and designers who value style lineage, tactile form, and pieces that carry both beauty and useability. Lovingly restored, set of six Nineteen-Laties Thomasville Embassy...

1970 s Brown Velvet Tufted Chrome High Back Parsons Dining Chairs
By John Stuart Inc., Milo Baughman, Design Institute America
Located in Chattanooga, TN
A set of high-back Parsons chairs from the 1970s by Design Institute of America, these pieces deftly combine sleek chrome architecture with the warm comfort of tufted brown chevron-velour upholstery. The frame is flat-bar chrome, polished by hand to recover its original brilliance; legs and supports are thick, bold, and squared, lending the chairs a graphic architectural structure. The upholstery is plush brown chevron velour, originally tufted, deep in pile and texture, evoking both luxury and vintage warmth. The fabric has been professionally steam-cleaned, retaining much of its original character though showing minimal, age-appropriate wear that affirms authentic vintage pedigree. Condition is excellent. Chrome surfaces are bright with only subtle flaws visible under close inspection. Upholstery is sound: seams are tight, backs straight, cushions supportive. Minor signs of use—slight darkening or softening in high-contact areas. These chairs are versatile. They excel around dining tables, in ensembles of side chairs, or as statement pieces flanking consoles or desks. Their chrome frames reflect light, brightening spaces; their tufted backs and velvet bring texture, comfort, pattern. They pair especially well with wood tones, mirrored or glass surfaces, warm leathers, and neutral palettes seeking warmth and vintage glamour. For collectors of chrome modernism, vintage Parsons styles, or pieces by DIA (Design Institute of America), this set offers rarity, integrity, and presence. These are chairs deliver more than seating, atmosphere, design lineage, and the kind of visual trajectory that holds up in both modern and traditional interiors. What's more 70's legit than tufted brown chevron velour? These aluminum leg parsons dining chairs check all the boxes and are back in vogue with a vengeance. Perched on chrome flat-bar bases...
