An exquisite set of eight early 20th-century French Louis XVI style dining chairs, sourced in Provence, France. The frames retain their original creamy white painted finish with subtle gilt accents and visible traces of the earlier green paint layer within the carving, creating a naturally layered patina that reflects their age and provenance. Classic Louis XVI details include shaped oval backs with ribbon and laurel carving, fluted legs, rosette corner blocks, and elegant toupie feet. The proportions are generous and well-balanced, consistent with early 20th-century French workmanship. The chairs have been newly upholstered in a rich olive green performance velvet, chosen for durability and a soft hand. The upholstery is finished with matching single piping trim outlining the backs and a line of nailhead trim along the seat rails, keeping the presentation clean and traditional while echoing the original French detailing. The entire set has been structurally revised in our workshop, ensuring stability and everyday functionality while preserving the authentic surface character of the painted frames and carved details.
