About the Item

Grand set of twelve antique French dining chairs, Napoleon III style, late 19th century, sourced in Provence, France. Crafted from solid oak, the chairs feature arched upholstered backs, turned front legs, and restrained molded detailing characteristic of French Second Empire seating. The frames have been structurally revised in our design studio and are solid and stable for daily use. The wood has been carefully cleaned and gently waxed, preserving the natural patina and warmth of the oak. The chairs are upholstered in a later burnt orange wool textile. Decorative nailhead trim finishes the seats and backs. A rare and cohesive large-scale set, originally made together, offering historical presence, comfort, and versatility, well suited for grand dining rooms and long tables. - Origin: Provence, France - Period: Late 19th Century - Materials: Oak, Wool, Nailhead Trim - Dimensions: W 19.75" x D 21.5" x H 36.5" - seat height 18" - Condition: Good antique condition. Structurally revised and stable. The wood shows minor surface wear consistent with age and use. The later wool upholstery shows visible wear, including light spotting and areas of use, as shown.
