About the Item
We delight to offer for sale those stunning set of eight italian walnut dining armchairs in the manner of Angiolio Barbetti (1805-1873) , in renaissance style .
Each chairs with a tapestry upholstered back and seat, with turned arms with seated lion supports, the scrolling front rail on block and turned legs and 'H' stretcher .
Condition
Tapestry covers are in generally good condition. Some wear to front edge of seats some staining .
General wear to frames. With old marks, dents and light scuffs consistent with age and use.
The lions are well carved and in the whole the chairs are in presentable and usable condition.
Provenance
Purchased from Chevertons of Edenbridge Ltd., 15th June 2002, for £16.500 for the table (lot 37) and chairs.
