About the Item

For your consideration to of six Knorr chairs. Comprised of sheet metal bolted to steel rod legs. This chair is exceptionally rare (a set of six in simply unheard of) Model #132 chair. Originally designed in 1948 by Donald Knorr for Knoll Associates. The seating design winner from the 1949 MoMA competition and still part of Moma's permanent collection today. Only produced from 1950-1952 due to war time efforts with metal limitations. Before Knorr established his own firm (early 1950s) he worked under Saarinen. A true collectors item! Original seat cushions are available for a template as they are terribly worn. (two available)
