Early 19th century set of 10 Chippendale design dining chairs circa 1810.
We are pleased to present this set of 10 mahogany dining chairs, comprising of 2 carver armchairs and 8 singles.
Carved serpentine top rail links to the typical open vase shaped splat that chippendale design was known for. Scrolling shaped arms with support leading down to the seat. Standing on reeded front legs with a slight splayed leg to the rear, united by h frame stretcher. Heavy mahogany used to provide a substantial sturdy chair.
Minor restorations to woodwork, expected surface marks and very minor losses to legs. Light surface marks to upholstery which could clean up, but an ideal candidate for re-covering.
