About the Item

A particularly fine set of earlier 20th Century Mahogany Shield Back dining chairs with good solidity and comfort. The chairs with decoratively carved Wheat Sheaf surmounting a delicately ribbed and carved back-splat, tapered leg with Peg foot and bottom stretchers. The single piece seats are upholstered in a warm Coral woven fabric with bird, branch and floral motif in muted Blue, Cream, Saffron Olive and Green tones. Dimensions: Arm Chair 23.5” wide by 18” deep by 38.5” high. seat height 19”. Arm height 28”. Side Chair 20.5” wide by 19.5” deep by 38.5” high. Seat height 19”. Condition: Please see detail photos. Various acceptable signs of age include time softened nicks to the frames, older staining and slight fading to the fabric, finish losses to the arm surfaces and a few scratches mentioned for accuracy as the presentation is refined and very fine.
