About the Item

Amazing unique set of 6 Jugend Style artist dining chairs made in Finland in the early 20th century. The chairs are handmade in the most amazingly grained solid birchwood and the seats have been reupholstered in white linen. Typical of Scandinavian, and in particular Finnish, Jugend / Art Nouveau works, the chairs boldly play on geometric forms and local, natural motifs. Each chair beautifully hand-carved as a beautiful sculpture. Influenced by Anthroposophical design and Art nouveau.
