About the Item
Pair of armchairs, stained wood, straw, France, 1940s.
Decorative French armchairs. The stained wooden frame has multiple carved details that add up to a complex whole. Carved lines and circular ends, straight and round parts come together to form a rather striking Art Deco chair. A special feature is the elegant backrest that contains two separate slats of stained wood which are beautifully carved. Webbed straw as the material for the seat adds a natural character to the patinated frames and the overall design.
Please note that these items are in used condition and show signs of wear and use common for pieces this age.
