About the Item
Ca. 18th century. Including two pairs of complementary side chairs, along with two complementary armchairs. All heavy construction in burled wood with classic Queen Anne style shaped splats. The side chairs with plain shaped crest rails and splats pierced at the top. One pair has rounded seats, the other pair with angular seats., the skirt rails with carved fan motifs. They are all raised on curved front legs with pad feet and square splayed back feet, with H and back stretchers.
The two complementary armchairs with scrolled crest ends and solid splats. The wide shaped seats with carved serpentine rails and raised on curved legs with ball-and-claw feet in front and square splayed ones at back.
All chairs with later worn bottle green velveteen upholstered slip seats.

Dimensions:
Armchair 27.25” wide by 22.25” deep by 38” high. Seat height 14.75”.
Armchair: 27” wide by 19.25” deep by 38” high. Seat height 16.5”.
2 Side Chairs: 21” wide by 20.25” deep by 40” high. Seat height 18”.
1 Side Chair: 22” wide by 17.75” deep by 41” high. Seat height 18.25”.
1 Side Chair. 21.5” wide by 17.5” deep by 41.5” high. Seat height 18.25”.
Condition: Please review the detail photos. Restoration recommended. Various signs of age and use including: One side chair has a cracked splat. Another side chair with a different style carved shell, a cracked crest rail, and an open join on the splat upper right. One side chair with a crack on the crest rail. The fourth side chair has cracks on the seat frame, one knee with an open join, cracked splat and cracked front feet.
One armchair has a loose but stable arm join. The second armchair has fine repairs on both ends of the crest rail. The splat is chipped at the top. One arm is slightly loose but stable. The seat frame is chipped on one corner and the feet are worn.All upholstery is worn but presentable.
