This elegant design by Hugo Frandsen demonstrates a refined attention to detail and craftsmanship. The semi-circular backrest is joined using finger joints, a structural solution that also serves as a decorative feature. The composition revolves around a repetition of rounded forms, visible in the backrest, seat, and legs. These circular elements are harmoniously balanced by the straight, vertical lines of the legs, resulting in a design that feels both dynamic and composed.

The ‘Louisiana’ chair was initially created for the Louisiana Museum of Modern Art in Humlebæk, Denmark, by the Danish architects Jørgen Bo and Vilhelm Wohlert. Inside the modern building complex the chairs were supposed to serve as functional chairs for events. Therefore, Bo and Wohlert had a comfortable chair in mind that is easily stackable. The round seat with off-white suede upholstery and a curved backrest provide comfort.
