About the Item

An exceptional and complete set of six Italian 19th century Louis XV st. patinated and giltwood dining chairs. Each chair is raised by elegant patinated cabriole legs with fine giltwood fillets which extend up each leg and along the frieze. The arbalest shaped frieze is centered by a detailed carved giltwood scrolled foliate reserve. The uniquely shaped tufted upholstered back displays a beautiful patinated border with most attractive giltwood fillets. All below the striking richly carved acanthus leaves and a foliate top reserve. with all original gilt and patina throughout. Seat height is 20".
