Bauhaus design chair in black lacquered beech, in the style of the Joseph Hoffmann chairs, known as “fledermaus”.
We love their unique look, with very elegant graphics.
Beautiful patina on the wood, which gives it all its charm and authenticity.
Seat in cream checkered fabric, nice refined contrast between the black wood and .
Very good general condition.
They are labeled with a made in Denmark label.

Hoffmann chose this design for the seating in Vienna’s Cabaret Fledermaus that opened in October 1907. The chair's distinctive design features a sleek and elegant bentwood frame in black lacquered finish, swooping armrests and curved backrests are both elegant and stately.
The fledermaus chairs are a perfect representation of Hoffmann's iconic Viennese Secessionist style, which was characterized by its simple, geometric shapes and use of high-quality materials. For the time the design was a bold and radical departure for the gilded tradition of European nightclubs and instantly gained popularity.
