About the Item
Our ladder back dining chair seen in white oak was designed to let form follow function and celebrate its Shaker roots. The back has a gentle curve from the seat to the top of the back rest the lends a softness both visually and in comfort. The back rests are both curved and rounded again to bring a softness to the clean lines of a ladder back chair. The entire chair is built with mortise and floating tenon joinery. We upholster the seat in our studio with a webbed frame and stretched muslin underneath the final upholstery fabric. The price of the chair does not include the upholstery fabric and we are happy to work with provided fabrics that we will approve. We also have a selection of materials that we keep in stock including the one seen in the picture which is a wool. The finish on the chair is a natural hand rubbed oil and wax.

Allister is a custom furniture studio located in Santa Fe, New Mexico. We have been hand making furniture for designers and architects around the country since 2010. We custom make each piece using traditional joinery methods and hand select each piece of wood. We source our wood from small sawyers around the country who bring the same level of care to their craft as we bring to ours. Many of our designs are inspired by mid century masters; timeless with clean lines, allowing the beauty of the wood to shine.
These chairs are available in walnut, white oak, cherry, maple and ash. We offer a selection of upholstery choices which we can confirm or we will work with customer provided fabric that has been approved
