About the Item

Dress up a breakfast or dining room with this elegant suite of six side chairs! Crafted in France circa 1970 and built of solid beechwood, each chair stands on hand-carved os de mouton (sheep bone) legs connected with a matching stretcher across the bottom for added stability. Each seat features a tall, arched, and slightly pitched back for comfort and support, upholstered with the original striped velvet fabric in beige, rust, and olive tones, and further embellished with decorative brass nailhead trim. The Classic Louis XIII style dining chairs are in excellent condition commensurate with age and use, and display a rich walnut patina that enhances the warmth of the carved frames. These timeless French chairs would make a refined addition to a traditional dining room, breakfast area, or formal seating arrangement. (“Os de mouton” refers to the sinuous, lamb-leg–inspired stretcher design that became a hallmark of Louis XIII period furniture.) Measures: 18.75” W x 18.5” D x 42” H.
