About the Item

Set of four Brutalist blonde wood chairs combines Tyrolean folk motifs with Mid-Century simplified construction methods. Each chair features a hand-carved shield-shaped backrest with decorative pierced cutouts in quatrefoil-inspired patterns, topped with pointed finials characteristic of Alpine provincial design. The solid wood construction employs simple joinery techniques with plank seats and four splayed tapered legs. Tyrolean chair-making traditions adapted folk decorative elements to modern production during the postwar period, maintaining hand-carved ornamentation while streamlining structural components. The blonde wood showcases natural grain variation, with each chair displaying unique patina development from light honey to deeper amber tones. Robust proportions and raw material treatment reflect Brutalist design sensibilities applied to traditional Alpine forms.
