This set of six Mitxi chairs, designed by celebrated Australian modernist Grant Featherston, has been carefully restored to highlight the clarity and poise of his original design. Featherston’s work is recognised for its sculptural restraint and human-centred approach, and the Mitxi chair embodies this sensibility with its light, tapered frame and subtly contoured forms. The set has been reupholstered in Fabricut’s Fernroot Night, a richly textured fabric that adds depth without disrupting the chair’s clean profile. Paired with a refined Doe Skin powdercoat, the frames regain their soft, modern presence while preserving Featherston’s intent for functional simplicity. Thoughtfully updated, these chairs offer a renewed expression of an Australian design classic suited to both contemporary and character-filled interiors.
