About the Item
Chair with natural beech frame; curved back in polished plywood; seat in die-cast aluminum, stuffed with knot in center, natural. Front legs shaped in square section, with slight flaring and curvature near the supports; rear legs replicate the same section, with increased depth near the seat frame. The legs are attached to the rest of the structure by special metal interlocking and screw at the seat intrados. Seat frame, leg joints and steel screws, with contrasting chrome.
Thomas Althaus (Düsseldorf, 1967) began his career in 1987 after graduating from the University of Düsseldorf with a degree in interior architecture and design. From 1989 to 1994 he worked with the design studio of Volker Laprell, an interior architect and designer. Together they signed the "Online" office furniture collection for the German company Rosenthal in 1992, which won several awards the following year (Red Dot Design Award).
