About the Item

A beautiful pair of antique Danish chairs made around 1900, inspired by the classic English Hepplewhite style. Each chair has a shield-shaped back with a fine inlay of an urn, slim tapered legs, and a gently curved backrest. Made of warm mahogany with detailed marquetry and upholstered seats, they show the Scandinavian take on 18th-century design. Object: Pair of side chairs Style: Hepplewhite Revival, Neoclassical influence Period: 1900-1910 Country of origin: Denmark Condition: Good antique condition, with wear consistent with age and use. Later upholstery in good shape. The joints are firm and secure, and the chairs have been reinforced at the bottom for added stability.
