About the Item

Rainer Daumiller is a furniture designer who was born in Germany and migrated to Denmark in 1959. The sculptural wooden furniture represents Daumiller's love for natural materials and his connection to nature. The artist's work is strongly influenced by the ideas of the Austrian philosopher, social reformer and architect Rudolf Steiner. The designer designed the Daumiller armchair and table in 1977 and is now his best-known design. The chair was recently re-edited by Gubi and is currently experiencing a renaissance. Designed to be functional yet fun, this is a chair that everyone can appreciate, enjoy and, most importantly, seek comfort within. The set consists of four carver chairs. These ergonomic pine chair is carved to fit the human body like a glove, while the simple design will complement a variety of tastes and designs. Due to its ergonomic, timeless design and quality materials, we suggest using several around a dining table or pairing one with your workspace in order to ideate and create in comfort. Daumiller aimed to create a strong, everyday chair that could withstand active use, even by children, while also being suitable for adult dining. He was inspired by traditional Danish milking stools and Hans J. Wegner's China Chair. All pieces are in sturdy condition and all wear a stamp. chairs show regular signs of wear.
