Pair of dining chairs, pine, metal, France, 1940s
This set of French dining chairs features a rather stunning design. Very strong and clean lines structure the chair in an admirable way. Characteristic are the black metal feet that fit within the overall stylistic language of the design which is based on solid horizontal and vertical lines. The red to brown seat embodies vivid grains that contribute to chair's strong expression. The style is reminiscent of the designs of Georges Candilis and Anja Blomstedt
