About the Item

A wonderful iconic Mid-Century set of six French 1940s Multipl’s metal chairs in excellent condition, retaining its old mottled painted surface of grey, green, red, and blue. The chairs were designed by Joseph Mathieu and made by Pierre Benite in Lyon. Multipl’s were Tolix's main competitor. but unfortunately ceased operations in the 1950s. They are a perfect example of the French Industrial furniture industry that proliferated from the 1930s-1960s Due to their wonderful design they are very comfortable and therefore can be used for both dining inside and out.
