An exceptionally rare set of twelve (12) rattan and cane dining chairs by the great Henry Olko for his Willow
Reed, circa 1955. A stunning organic design that projects a distinct Art Deco Egyptian Revival vibe. Mr. Olko has confirmed that this particular chair was one his first designs produced when he initially began work with his father's Willow
Reed firm in the mid-1950s. The set consists of two (2) host chairs and ten (10) side chairs. Stylish, beautifully conceived Throne style high-back design executed in a black lacquer finish with cane accents in aged gold-leaf. Exceptional quality and craftsmanship with exacting detail. Stout, sturdy and comfortable; suitable for heavy regular use and lingering dinner conversation. Serious chairs designed to anchor an important dining room. Excellent Restored Condition. The chairs have been professionally cleaned and re-lacquered. All cane bindings are intact and complete. Host chair arm height is 26.5 inches. Expert custom upholstery in a neutral Larsen fabric. Retains the maker mark. The price listed is for the set of twelve (12) chairs.
