About the Item
This set of four Swedish pine chairs is an early mid-century model "Ängåsen" designed by Ferdinand Lundquist and produced by Åby Möbelfabrik in Gothenburg. A classic example of 1930s/40s Swedish craftsmanship.
The chairs feature a functionalist expression with clean lines, softly rounded edges and light, warm pine that showcases a beautiful natural grain. Their quiet simplicity reflects the Scandinavian design ethos of the period—honest materials, solid joinery, and a focus on everyday usability.
These chairs have a strong impression that pairs well with many types of interior styles. A Modern, Scandinavian, Classic or an Art deco home decor.
A warm color and patina that pairs well with the minimalist Scandinavian lifestyle. Scandinavian design is characterized by a minimal, clean approach that seeks to combine functionality with beauty. Its focus is on simple lines and light spaces.
