This is a set of 4 antique dining chairs. A Scottish, carved oak seat in Gothic revival taste, dating to the Victorian period, circa 1880. Fascinating country house dining chairs, with superb detail Displaying a desirable aged patina and in good order Select Scottish oak presents fine grain interest throughout Deep caramel hues adorn the stout frames Relief carved top rail presents foliate shields to the centre upon scrolled motif Upholstered back rest with further relief pattern to the outside Professionally reupholstered in a vibrant claret red velvet Traditionally stuffed cushions set at a comfortable height of 48cm (19'') Lower apron in sash form with relief decor and scroll detail Striking bulb form front legs adorned with grape and leaf detail over acanthus gadrooning Front legs standing upon a pair of collared circular feet Distinctive rear legs in square section, with turned ends This is a delightful set of 4 antique dining chairs, graced with 17th century Gothic revival taste and of generous proportion, well suited to a country house setting.
