About the Item

Set of (6) Antique French Os de Mouton Dining Chairs in Hand-Washed Irish Linen. The name “os de mouton” (French meaning sheep-bone) refers to the shape of the lower frame of the chair. The name os de mouton came about during the reign of King Louis XIII who became King in 1610 ending in 1643 which was the start of French country furniture. Our set of (6) os de mouton Country French Dining Chairs were restored in house by our master craftsmen using old school materials and methods. The fabric and hand-washed Linen and has the small nubs on the surface like you would expect to see on Antique French Linen. Even the square nails were imported from Germany and are solid brass unlike the faux bronze painted ones everybody seems to use. Our finishing department created a special finish to blend with the linen and gave the chairs a more modern twist.
