J. Hoffmann was a pioneer in modern design and architecture and also renowed as the founder of the "Wiener Werkstaette" - a worldwide known, pioneering artcraft center in Vienna. Those kind of chairs could be found for example in one of the iconic Hoffmann villas that were built on the "Hohenwarte" - see picture #3.
