Introducing an incredibly rare set of Model 58 dining chairs in teak and leather upholstery designed by the influential Harry Østergaard for Randers Møbelfabrik, crafted in the 1960's in Denmark. This now iconic chair set is constructed from a mix of solid and veneered Burmese teak, showcasing the natural beauty of the wood grain and unique coloration. The curved backs and the characteristically sleek, minimalist lines add a touch of elegance to the design while the tapered legs add a sense of lightness and airiness. Recently and painstakingly restored this aesthetically stunning set has been hand-sanded and refinished bringing the solid teak back from the dead. Though some minor repairs remain subtly visible, this set is now in overall excellent condition. The rich dark mocha leather, cut from genuine Italian leather hides, adds warmth and comfort making this set perfect for both home and office spaces. This architecturally captivating set of Model 58's is a true collector's item, perfect for those who appreciate the beauty and craftsmanship of Danish Modern furniture and the ingenious creations by Harry Østergaard. Featuring new genuine Italian leather the upholstery is in showroom condition showing only the wear of a once-living animal (ranch brands, scars, etc.). The seat cushions have been replaced with new medium density foam for maximum comfort and longevity. The solid Burmese teak frames and legs have been hand-sanded and refinished with only minor nicks and light scratches remaining (the worst of which can be seen in the detail photos and natural light video provided). The molded backrests, made from a mix of solid and veneered teak, show various small repairs that are present throughout the set. This architecturally fascinating chair set is incredibly comfortable, structurally sound and ready for a literal lifetime more of use thanks to it's recent restoration process. We currently only have these six Model 77 chairs in stock and when they sell they're gone forever. The most involved repair includes dowls and can be seen in the photos provided. There are also scratches, nicks and other smaller crack repairs present (all of which can be seen clearly in the detail photos provided). With that said the solid teak frames and legs are in overall very good shape and the woodgrains are absolutely mesmerizing in natural light.
