About the Item
A set of four George II period side chairs in mahogany. The drop-in seats covered in silk damask. Elegantly shaped throughout, especially of note are the undulating uprights of the back. Standing on cabriole front legs well-carved at the knees with a leaf motif and ending in pad feet. The back legs are out-swept and connected by a turned stretcher. The solid, shaped backsplats are formed of finely figured timber. Terrific color and patina.
