About the Item
A large finely crafted and impressive set of fourteen carved burl walnut dining chairs with two arm and twelve side chairs with upholstered slip seats in the George II style. Each has an elegant carved and scrolled top rail and vasiform splats flanked by serpentine stiles. The seats are raised on cabriole front legs with shell carved knees and ending in ball-and-claw feet and with curved back legs. Each chair with slip seats upholstered in a pale tan and green striped fabric.
Condition: Please review the detail photos. Various signs of age and use including some seats with stain spots (Reupholstery recommended). There is some sunning to the backs of some chairs, some of the chair frames with expected wear and losses to the finish and nicks and losses including the feet. One chair with breakage and loss to the corner blocking at the top of two of its legs (See photos) however still stable and solid feeling.
