About the Item

Gagglioli, set of six dining chairs, Alpi wood veneer, brass, reupholstered fabric, Rome, Italy, 1970s A strikingly postmodern and angular design, characterized by its bold geometric forms and extraordinary use of materials. These 1970s chairs feature a single continuous wooden frame that forms both the foundation and a striking sculptural silhouette. The rectangular base connects to a sharply angled segment that rises diagonally upward, transitioning seamlessly into the backrest's support. The frame's open design utilizes negative space effectively, with the hollow sections between the base, seat, and backrest contributing to a sense of lightness and modernity. The precise, sharp edges and the brass inlay that follow the lines of the framework, impart the piece with a strong, convinced appearance. The Alpi veneered wood is outstanding, highlighted by a richly textured, swirling grain with an organic and mesmerizing quality. The newly upholstered seats, featuring a dynamic pattern of chevrons and zigzags, bring the chair's bold geometric structure to the forefront. Kindly note that the wooden frames contain signs of wear and use. We currently have six more of these chairs in our stock, which could be made into a set of twelve chairs in total.
