About the Item
A handsome set of six French 19th century Empire St. Mahogany and Ormolu dining chairs. This wonderful set are raised by four circular tapered front legs while the back legs display a square tapered curved form. The front legs are richly decorated by top Ormolu bands with detailed Palmette shapes. The straight frieze has a recessed central panel with an Ormolu rosette and palmette mounts flanking on both sides. The front solid Mahogany block above each front leg leads to the curve back with similar recessed panels. The two raised side rails lead upwards to the upholstered curved back with a top bull nose Mahogany rail.
