About the Item

A distinguished and substantial set of ten French carved wood armchairs, dating to the early 20th century and inspired by the elegant lines of Louis XV seating. Unified in form yet rich in detail, this rare large set offers both decorative presence and practical versatility. Each chair features a tall, shaped back surmounted by an exquisitely carved crest with foliate and scroll motifs, executed with confident, sculptural depth. The serpentine arms flow gracefully into turned supports, while the molded seats rest on finely carved legs joined by shaped stretchers, all demonstrating skilled craftsmanship and balanced proportions.
