A rare and exquisite set of twelve George III Hepplewhite mahogany shield-back dining chairs. The shield-shaped backs are attractively molded, each adorned with a gracefully carved splat set above a comfortably contoured saddle seat that enhances comfort for extended use. The front legs are elegantly molded along the front edge and terminate in a subtle upturned foot, contributing to the chairs’ refined and balanced silhouette. Overall condition, particularly considering the age and the complete set of twelve, remains good, exhibiting only the expected signs of period wear consistent with careful use and age.
