We are delighted to offer for sale this stunning vintage black leather chrome stud Gainsborough carver armchair with Thomas Chippendale style fret work carving
A very good looking and well made armchair, there are a lot of Gainsborough type carvers out there and they can all look much of a muchness, this has some very nice quality craftsman details to set it apart from the others, the H frame base has been ornately hand with fretwork to the corners, the upholstery is hand studded in the traditional form, it’s a very well made and decorative armchair
In terms of condition the leather is on good order throughout with nice aged related patina, the timber is all original and solid hard wood, we have cleaned waxed and polished it from top to bottom
