About the Item

Medea Model 102 Bentwood Armchair by Vittorio Nobili, c 1955 Italy, Signed
By Vittorio Nobili
Located in Los Angeles, CA
This fantastic collectors sculptural bentwood armchair is the 'Medea 102' chair by Vittorio Nobili for Fratelli Tagliabue and was crafted in Italy circa 1955, signed underneath with Medea insignia. Perfect for collectors looking for a unique and collectible chair. The Medea series included model 102 which was the armchair, model 101 which was the side chair, and model 103 which was the upholstered version of the side chair. Model 102 is the most desirable due to the exotic wing-arms which gives the chair its unique look. This Vittorio Nobili for F. LLI Tagliabue 'Medea' armchair would work great in a Mid-Century Modern, Scandanavian Modern or Danish Modern home or penthouse apartment but could also look fantastic in a Contemporary or Post-Modern room. Also consider mixing it up in a Traditional, Transitional, Classical or Art Deco room with a splash of juxtaposition. Would also be an apt choice in a commercial project such as a hotel lobby lounge or members club, creative design studio or high-rise executive office. Consider using as a side chair, cafe or breakfast table chair, bedside chair, fireside chair, dressing or changing room chair, hallway chair, entryway or mudroom chair, nursing or reading chair, meeting room chair...
