About the Item

Rare early edition Wim Rietveld designed ‘Pyramid’ arm chair. Created by Rietveld (son of Dutch "De Stijl" luminary Gerrit Rietveld) in 1959 for Netherlands based furniture manufacturer Ahrend de Cirkel. Winner of the highly coveted ‘Signe d’Or’ Design Award in 1960. Considered a triumph of Dutch post-war design and has world wide acclaim. With its black enameled metal frame this chair is original condition with a sturdy yet comfortable teak seat and back, making it extremely durable and comfortable. Some chipping and scratching to the seats and enamel loss on frame consistent with normal use, there may be some cracking to the feet.
