About the Item
Use a foot-stool in the kitchen to reach that top shelf, by the fireplace to peek inside the Christmas stocking, or at the back door to sit on when you change your shoes. The Poodle foot-stool is made in Indiana of red oak, an American hardwood that really is a hard wood, and whose strong grain pattern will conceal scuff marks. The legs have a reverse taper that makes each of them an easy handle when you need to move it. Or, you can pick it up using the slot in the middle of the seat. Supplies are limited.

The story behind the Poodle:
My oldest brother Jake, dearly beloved and now deceased, was a woodworker par excellence. For Christmas or other special occasions, he would sometimes take a break from fancier projects and make a gift of a foot-stool; over the years he came up with many delightful designs. This year I thought it would be fun to carry on the tradition as a present for the wedding of my nephew Levi and his bride Heather. The puffy legs and chunky body just made it seem friendlier. After I had made it I realized it reminded me of a poodle dog.

Jambosco
Jambosco is based in northern Indiana, a land abounding in corn fields and RV factories, where you might park your car next to an Amish buggy at the grocery store, or get invited to your neighbor's quinceanera party. The vibrancy of contrasting cultural ways pushes us to reconsider the well-trod paths of convention. Style-wise, the dominant influence for Jambosco is mid-century modernism. All pieces are American-made by craftsmen in northern Indiana. James Loewen is the founder of Jambosco. Born in the Congo and raised on several continents, he studied industrial design in Milan Italy, has designed furniture and other objects for many years, and now lives in Goshen Indiana.
