About the Item

A rare oval shaped Windsor footstool with an upholstered leather seat and splayed bamboo turned hardwood legs joined by "H" stretchers. The brass upholstery tacks and leather are replacements in the original tacking holes on the cove cut edge of the oval pine top. American, probably Rhode Island, circa 1825-50.
