On offer on this occasion is a superb suite of David Linley “Lizard” seating, consisting of an identical pair of 3-seat “Lizard” sofas in dark-brown leather, dark-brown velvet and walnut framework, and a large “Lizard” low-table in walnut.
As you will no doubt be aware by your interest in this listing, Linley pieces are the epitome of classic English furniture design, are of supreme quality, and exhibit detailing and execution of the finest standard.
In a world of temporary pleasures, Linley create beautiful furniture built to last a lifetime.
This suite is in superb, beautifully-maintained condition, showing light signs of use, consistent with the infrequent residential employment it has seen, and is entirely free from fault, flaw or damage. Its terrific order reflects the TLC and considerate use afforded it in the past but, as you would expect, there is the odd area of compromise to be found.
In this case, there are a number of modest, light marks and blemishes to the leatherwork to the sofas (as you would expect from such a soft, refined hide), the odd, superficial bruise to the pile of the velvet, and some small, inconsequential imperfections to the low-table (they have been used, after all) but these issues are mentioned more for the purposes of accuracy rather than because they detract significantly from the undeniable-beauty of this suite.
Please view the images provided carefully to confirm its superb condition and handsome appearance. As gorgeous as a suite of seating could be, and of peerless substance and execution.
Whilst in its current condition it would likely fall short of the requirements of the true-perfectionist (to be clear, they are not perfect), for someone looking for a suite of supreme quality to position at the heart of family life, it is truly heaven sent! This sublime suite possesses all the beauty and majesty you would expect of some of the finest traditional furniture money can buy.
Each sofas dimensions are H-80cm, W-250cm and D-108cm, with the low-table measuring H-33cm, W-130cm and D-130cm, and the breathtaking seating position these iconic sofa-designs creates is enhanced by the use of sumptuously comfortable, generously-upholstered back and composite-filled seat-cushions, which leaves you powerless to resist its charms. Not only does it possess looks to die for, but it is so comfortable too!
Costing in excess of £40,000 when new, it represents spectacular value for money, and we have no doubt it will serve and delight its new owner for many years to come.
