On offer on this occasion is a small suite of seating capable of being the last you might ever need to buy, it being an ultra-rare "Poppy" 2-seat compact sofa and armchair, all dressed in a burnt-red buffalo-leather (for a colour reference, they are almost identical to "Terre D'Egypte 247" from Farrow and Ball), from the world renown Italian furniture house of Poltrona Frau.
As you will no doubt be aware by your interest in these 1970's Tito Agnoli masterpiece's, Poltrona Frau pieces are the epitome of contemporary European furniture design, are of peerless quality, and exhibit detailing and execution of an unrivalled standard.
In a world of temporary pleasures, Poltrona Frau create beautiful furniture that remains a joy forever. and there can be no finer illustration of that than this stunning pair. From the golden-era of Poltrona Frau, where the traditional collided with the modern, resulting in pieces such as this where timeless, elegant design was coupled with no-expense-spared manufacturing processes, creating seating which balances beauty, comfort, performance and permanence like little-else before or since.
Poltrona Frau sofas presented in this spectacular order are rare enough on the pre-loved market but, dressed in this most stunning and tactile high-grade buffalo-leather option in a striking, organic red hue, they are as rare as Hen's teeth! Spectacularly sought-after as, whilst being as robust and hard-wearing as rhino skin, its softness and texture is simply divine to the touch. The perfect blend of luxury and practicality.
This suite is in wonderful, impeccably-maintained condition, having seen light, infrequent use in its previous home, and is almost entirely free from fault, flaw or damage. Aside from some relaxing/creasing to the hide and some light marks to the seat-cushions, it is as well-presented as is possible to conceive from a suite of this nature. Simply amazing!
Its fine order reflects the TLC and considerate use afforded it in the past but, as you would think normal when considering the nature and colour of this particular hide covering, it does possess the odd visible, but inconsequential mark as you would expect, but we are confident that, as the images provided will attest, these issues prove to be of little or no significance and, rather than being mentioned because they detract hugely from the impact of the suite, they are mentioned purely for the purposes of accuracy.
For the avoidance of doubt, please view the numerous images provided to confirm the superb condition and appearance of these doyen. Handsome in the extreme, and with a quality, integrity and build-quality to-die-for. Honestly, they just do not make them like this anymore.
Whilst it could not be considered truly perfect due to the reasons stated above, it is guaranteed to meet the requirements of the most fastidious and particular of buyers and, for someone looking for a suite of high-design to position at the heart of their home, it is truly heaven sent! Without question, this superb suite possesses all the beauty and majesty you would expect from the finest furniture money can buy.
Dimensions-wise, the measurements of the sofa are H- 84cm, W- 150cm and D- 94cm, with the armchair measuring H-84cm, W-104cm and D-94cm., and the breathtaking seating position this iconic informal-design creates is enhanced by the use of sumptuously upholstered composite-filled back, seat and arm cushioning, which leaves you powerless to resist its charms.
