Pair of armchairs, fabric, lacquered walnut, Italy, 1950s
With their distinctive geometry and angular lines, these lovely pair of club chairs are the perfect embodiment of mid-century modern design. The armrests and backrest form a cohesive, enveloping structure, with a slightly inward curve that adds subtle softness to the otherwise angular design. The chair's sturdy wooden base is elevated slightly, characterized by arched feet. The white stripes run evenly across the chair's exterior, emphasizing its clean lines and structured shape. The seat cushion and back display a finely textured, small-scale geometric pattern in a black-and-white weave.
