About the Item
This is a Nychair X Chair, designed by Takeshi Nii for Uchida Japan in 1970. The design is a take on an outdoor camping chair, developed for indoor use by an acclaimed architect that loved the outdoors. The chair has a saddle brown canvas sling seat, beech arms, and a polished steel rocking base. The seat is made of Kurashiki canvas, a durable, finely textured, woven cotton yarn, and is removable and replaceable. This iconic chair is part of MoMA's permanent collection.
The chair measures 26 inches deep, 23 inches wide, and 34 inches high. It has a seat height of 13 inches. The canvas seat has a small hole on the bottom corner. The wood arms show some scratches. Overall, this chair is in very good condition. Please see photos.
