About the Item
Very rare set - 3 identical New York Lounge Chair by William Katavolos, Ross Littel and Douglas Kelly in 1953 for Laverne International.
Wonderfully detailed and chrome-plated steel frame with black premium leather cushions, these are comparably elaborately handcrafted and quilted as those of the Barcelona chair by Mies van der Rohe.
The lounge chairs were purchased together in the 1950ties - since then, they have mainly stood unused in a representative area.
As all 3 chairs harmonize perfectly with each other, they can be perfectly placed next to each other and make either a 2-seater sofa plus lounge chair or a 3-seater sofa with a total width of 220 cm.
Unlike the Barcelona chair, the New York lounge chairs are really comfortable and invite you to relax for longer.
The option of converting the three chairs into a two- or three-seater sofa in no time at all is a real bonus given how comfortable they are to sit on...
