About the Item

Arnold Madsen - Clam Stool The Clam Stool is the perfect companion piece for Arnold Madsen's iconic Clam Chair. This new design has been has been developed in close collaboration with the family of Arnold Madsen by mirroring elements from the Clam Chair. The Clam Stool is made using traditional joinery and upholstery methods with a solid wood frame and turned club legs at our workshops in Sweden. The Clam Chair was designed in 1944 in Copenhagen by Danish upholsterer Arnold Madsen. In 1945 Arnold founded the furniture company Madsen Schubell together with cabinetmaker Henry Schubell in order to produce this unique chair that became known in Danish as the: 'Muslingstol' (Clam Chair), due to its unique shape.
